Shark Tank TV Show Season 1 – Episode 3
This is the 3rd episode from the first season of Shark Tank.
This episode is very exciting because… the sharks keep on surprising the viewers with their very unpredictable decisions.

Marian Cruz an inventor of Turbobaster is the first one to go to the shark tank, looking for $35k in return for a 35% stake. Her Turbobaster replaces 3 kitchen tools, it will siphon the juices, marinade and baste juice onto foods, like hot butter on veggies. The “Turbo Baster comes apart, so it’s easy to clean. The sharks got interested because of her charm but when she revealed that she brought a non-working prototype and she doesn't know her costs, I thought that they would all say no but surprisingly after the 3 sharks said "No" Kevin Harrington, offered $35k for a licensing deal with a 2% royalty and because Marian doesn't have anything to lose she said yes but Daymond interrupted and offered $40k for 51% ownership and a 2% royalty, Marian chose Kevin because of the expertise in the field, even if Daymond's offer is better.

The 2nd to swim with the sharks is Brian Parks, an environmentalist and creator of Chopstick Art, he recycles chopsticks and turns them into wine bottle holders and fruit baskets after realizing how many pairs of chopsticks is being thrown away each year. He is now looking for someone who will invest $100K in return for a 10% stake in his business. The 5 tycoons didn't invest because his products is not something you got to have, it's something nice to have and a very small business to have.

The 3rd to face the sharks is Laurie Lite, creator of the Stress Free Kids line of books, her idea is to calm children down and make them go to sleep because as a mother she encountered problems with her hyperactive son, it used to take her two hours to put him to bed each night. She used her stress-management techniques to his child and it worked, now she used the techniques and turned it to the line of children's books. She's asking for $250K in return for a 20% stake. The sharks got impressed when she said that she moved 30,000 units last year, working out of her kitchen. Kevin O'Leary offered $250K, but wants 100% of the company. Laurie said "No". Daymond offers $250 for 51%, and Barbara offers the same amount for 50%. She accepts Barbara's offer after calling her husband and asked his approval.

Next up is Ken Bradford, who's looking for $155K in return for a 10% stake which is obviously too high for a prototype. The 50 State Capitals deck of instructional flashcards idea didn't impress the sharks especially when they found out that he had only one sale. They all immediately said "No" as they cannot see the opportunity to make alot of money and I don't blame them.
The last to swim with the sharks is a father and son tandem, Jeff Cohen and his son Josh, they are raising $500K for a 5% stake of the company which is too big to invest but Jeff looks very confident. The Voyage Air Guitar, a highly innovative guitar designed to fold in half and fit into a backpack. What makes it different from other guitar maker is that they own a patent for the folding hinge. Jeff said that he has sold 800 units already this year, for a sales total of $400K. Kevin O'Leary started to offer $500K for 51% of a company that owns his patent. Kevin Harrington also offered to put up half the cash and bringing his expertise with TV infomercials to the table. Jeff didn't accept the offer. Kevin O'Leary commented "I'm stunned of your greed. You're a human tragedy. You're dead to me when you say no to my deal."
